As both a council member and your neighbor I have had some great opportunities to take part in our incredible city.

West University City Council Service

  • Successfully introduced, championed and passed the ordinance finally giving official recognition to Martin Luther King, Jr. Day in 2020 as a City Holiday
  • Worked with successive Mayors and Councils to:
  • Successfully lower tax rates for multiple consecutive year

  • Improve drainage and stormwater detention (Buffalo Speedway, East Side Drainage Project, and Law Street upgrades)

  • Enhance Resident Safety and Security (Virtual Gate, lowered speed limits and improved signage)

  • Promote and strengthen the City’s partnership with youth sports, as one of the original votes on Council for the current enhanced funding arrangement for Tri-Sports, along with continued support for the Piranhas.

  • Support and augment our parks and recreational amenities (revitalizing Colonial, Whitt Johnson, Huffington, Judson and Weir Parks with new playground equipment and other amenities, Rec Center improvements and revising tennis courts to enable pickle ball)

  • Encourage increased sustainability and environmental awareness in City planning, operations and services

  • Served as Council Liaison to the Senior Services Board (2019 – 2021) and the Recycling & Solid Waste Reduction Board (2021 – 2023)
  • Helped garner support for the introduction of the City’s Curbside Composting program

As your neighbor

  • Helped reorganize the West U Garden Club and gain 501c(3) status
  • Led the Sentinel Club to provide active shooter and forcible entry training equipment to the Police and Fire Departments.
  • WULL Challenger Division – Dugout volunteer since 2017 and Chair of the Rotary Club’s programs supporting Challenger Baseball since 2023
  • Member of the West U Good Neighbor team
